A Brief Bio

Language, Culture, Travel, and Teaching

I have always had a passion for language, and studied both French and Spanish in high school, and Spanish, French, Arabic, Italian and Turkish in college. I spent almost 4 years in Spain as an undergrad and graduate student while working on my master's degree in cultural anthropology, and started my language teaching career as an ESL teacher in Spain. While working on my graduate degree, I taught Spanish and anthropology at Indiana University, IUPUI, the University of Michigan and various other institutions. I have also spent time in Morocco, Mexico and Honduras, and worked on cultural and arts programming at the Arab Community Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

In 2005 I became certified as a legal interpreter, and began working full time as a court interpreter in 2006. My passion for teaching has served me well in that capacity, and I bring that concern for people into my work, making sure that everyone in the courtroom (deposition, meeting...) receives a complete and accurate interpretation of what is being said by others.

Legal Interpretation

Whether in person or through Zoom, Webex or Bluejeans, I know the importance of making sure that everyone present understands everything the other parties are conveying, and I do my best to make this happen. I am attentive to the needs of the different parties in a court case or legal action, and you can count on me to perform my role with integrity and consideration.

Meetings, Appointments and Other Interpretation

I am available for attorney-client interviews, immigration appointments, employee meetings, conferences and any other situation in which Spanish and English will be used.

Document Translation

I offer fast turnaround and competitive prices for legal documents, supporting documents for immigration applications (e.g. birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates; letters of support), and many other things. I can also quickly verbally interpret a document by phone, video, or audio file if a written copy is not needed.
